Bernice Bakery

The Brief

Bernice had built a loyal following the old-fashioned way: word of mouth, warm interiors, and pastries that people came back for every week. But their online presence wasn’t keeping up. They needed a website that could do justice to the experience of actually walking into the shop in Saint Henri, something that felt as considered and personal as the baking itself.

The goals were clear: showcase their rotating product offering, enable online ordering through a proper e-commerce setup, and give first-time visitors a real sense of what Bernice is about before they ever step through the door.

The Work

We built the site on Shopify, giving Bernice a foundation that’s easy for the team to manage without any technical overhead. The design direction leaned into warmth and texture: soft tones, generous white space, and photography that puts the product front and center.

Every page was built around the idea that good food should feel inviting before you even taste it. We handled art direction and photography to make sure the visual language was consistent from the homepage through to the product pages. The UI was kept intentionally simple: clear navigation, an intuitive shop experience, and a layout that works just as well on mobile as it does on desktop.

The result is a site that reads less like a storefront and more like an extension of the bakery itself.

The Result

Bernice now has a digital home that reflects who they are. Customers can browse the current offering, place orders online, and get a feel for the shop’s personality before their first visit. The e-commerce integration removed friction from the buying process and opened up a new sales channel beyond foot traffic.

More than anything, the site gives Bernice something to grow into; a platform that can evolve as their menu does, without needing to start from scratch every time.
