Welcome to Jake’s Place

Anne-Sophie Blais

He never does anything halfway. Fiery, energetic, and just a tad bit cheeky, when Jake walks into a room (or a golf course), you feel the shift in the air. Today, this commanding presence is opening the doors to his space. Let’s step inside the HQ of a life lived full tilt.

Hi Jake, thanks for the invite! First things first: might we be correct in assuming you’re a bit of a collector, judging by your entryway?

The pleasure’s all mine, and touché. I just love shoes. Any shoes. Shoes. Lots of shoes. Sneakers, golf cleats, you name it. I like having exactly what I need for every hobby and adventure. Hats and sunglasses? Same deal. Rain or shine, you’ll never catch me without a pair on my nose. It just ties the outfit together, it really does.

Take us through a typical morning. Are you an early riser or a slow starter?

I won’t lie: loafing in the morning is essential for my mental well-being. I make time to do nothing, enjoy breakfast, and put on the news while making sure I’m “presentable” before stepping out. Looking put together? Non-negotiable. It makes me feel ready, focused, and productive. Oh, and a very strong cup of coffee always helps set the tone for the day.

Wow, now we feel like you should redo our wardrobe. Could you help us with that?

Haha, growing the agency comes first. But I’m always scouting new passion projects… so who knows, maybe one day I’ll tackle the world of personal styling.

Oof, you sound busy. When do your days usually end?

Honestly? When the work’s done. Could be 5 PM, 8 PM… or later. I stay flexible because a big part of my job is networking, and you never know when a conversation could spark a new opportunity. But my downtime is also sacred: dinners with friends, workouts, golf, social plans, they’re all part of my productive mindset. When every area of my life feels in control, I’m energized.

And what are the building blocks of a good day for you?

You might have guessed it by now: productivity, both on the job and off. Positive social interactions, a solid workout, and meals that actually feel like meals (not just snacks) are all key.

Let’s talk about home. What keeps you grounded, even when you’re far away?

Textiles, for sure: rugs, soft textures, I want to feel cocooned. Being surrounded by people I care about, as well. Lighting, music, little rituals. I thrive in spaces that feel comforting and intentional.

We can see it here. Speaking of which, we love what you’ve done with the place!

Thanks! I wanted the vibe of an English cottage with a nod to the Americanized take: noble materials, natural touches, and a hint of classic charm. Comfortable but stylish, refined yet cozy.

Do you feel like anything’s missing?

A fireplace. It would transform the space, cozy up gatherings, and give the perfect central spot for hosting or spending time with someone special.

Speaking of missing, we don’t see any quotes on your walls. Is that intentional?

Yep. I like memories and visuals over words, though I might add some subtle inspiration in the future.

We do see the cutest baby pictures! Is that you? Did young Jake already know what he wanted to do?

Pretty much. I knew I wanted a career that married creativity with people. At 16, I interned at a marketing agency, and got a peak at everything from veterinary pharmacy campaigns to ads they did for Coppertone. That’s when it clicked: creativity could meet connections and strategy, and from then on out, I was hooked.

What’s on your desk or mood board right now?

I’m obsessed with interior decor, imagining future moves, kitchens, airy Danish apartments, and contemporary layouts. Fashion-wise, I’m all about the eighties and nineties revival: polos, loafers, and golf style with craft and etiquette. Around me, tangible reminders of memories abound: Frames, collectibles, trinkets… all carefully curated on a memory wall. Piece by piece, building it feels productive, nostalgic, and downright exciting.

Something smells good. Is that your kitchen? What’s simmering?

Chili for dinner, and growth, both personal and for Casa. I’m always working on self-improvement, habits, and ambitions. One could say I’m… always cooking, in every sense. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Speaking of cooking, is there a brand you think is killing it right now?

Manors and Tudor Watches. Both combine discipline, storytelling, and aspirational lifestyle in ways I admire.

If Casa opened another office anywhere, where would it be?

London, without a doubt. It has the mix I love: business energy, lifestyle, fashion, architecture… and overcast weather. Perfect for golf, sue me.

Our favorite question: if you were a piece of furniture, what would you be?

A lamp. I like setting the mood, creating atmosphere, quietly influencing the room.

Before we go… we’ve got a free day in Montreal. What should we do?

Brunch at McKiernan, stroll around St-Laurent, hit a hidden pub terrace for a drink, shop at Atwater Market, then cook a new recipe at home, host friends, and play a game once you’re a bit tipsy. Perfect reset day.

And what kind of reset are you on for 2026?

Discipline and consistency: in work, habits, and little things that matter. My goal is to grow, refine what works for me, and keep connecting with new people, professionally and personally.

We wish all of that and more for you! Thank you so much for spending time with us.

My pleasure! Maybe we’ll catch each other on a terrasse soon.
